Excellent!. Wow, a meal here includes a lot of food. Before the meal, we were served a basket of crackers, liver pate with garlic toasts, a white roll, a cranberry muffin, fresh sauerkraut salad, and a cup of thick soup. All delicious! For the entrees, we ordered the Beef Stroganoff and the Beef Rouladen. OMG the beef in both was so tender and delicious.Everything excellent, so happy!
Sehr Gut!!!. Mein Ehemann und ich genossen ein wunderbares Abendessen! (My husband is Bavarian and feels qualified to evaluate German cuisine!!) :-)Very authentic fare…the wurst sampler and sauerbraten were my favorites! Great, family run restaurant with recipes that have been passed down through the generations. Wir kommen bald wieder!!!
Good food, service, and atmosphere.. First off, regarding the other reviews, dinners are like $15 or $20. That is expensive? My dinner was $18 I believe. I got the bratwurst sampler, but made it into a meal. The salad was excellent, the pate fine (I’m not huge on it, but it was a nice spread for the garlic toast), the hard rolls and muffins were delirious. The bratwurst were excellent. I favored one of the three more than the others, and if I am in the area again, I would probably just get that one. However, it was interesting to try the others. They weren’t bad in anyway, but the third was excellent in comparison. The iced tea was homemade, the water quickly refilled, and the staff friendly. The woman who owns the place was very friendly and polite. Our waitress found out we were visiting the area and told us what was worth seeing and what wasn’t. Overall very nice.My only warning would be that the ladies room is extremely narrow. If you are disabled, this might be very difficult to navigate.
Way too expensive. This food is not even affordable fine dining quality. The bratwurst is fine, but my last visit on a Friday night I had a rude bartender followed up by a terrible meal.I mean, the Friday fish fry looked like the frozen fish fillets you get from the super market. And tasted the same to boot.If this was a $$ place my review would be different. The best part of the meal are the odds and end platter of dips you get before the main.
Classic German fare. Pricey, but delicious food and generous portions. Homemade Spaetzle that’s really good, plus a fabulous pate appetizer when you order. The servers are super friendly and knowledgeable. Be aware that you walk into a dark, intimate atmosphere but there is a second dining room that is full of light and windows.
This restaurant is very good. It is a classic Kenosha resaurant. The price isn’t cheep, but is is worth it. It has a cute German cottage feel, and the staff will make you feel right at home. Everything on the menu is great.
