Shirl’s is a Wisconsin-based frozen custard joint with multiple locations along the coast of Lake Michigan. I stopped in at their drive in location, which had a limited menu. It was impressive that they offered coffee and food, though I was there to try their custard. They offered four freshly made custard flavors as well as three ice cream flavors. The menu was extremely limited, which was the drive in’s downfall. However, what we had was delicious. My butter pecan junior cone was just the right amount, as the custard was very rich. Pieces of pecan were scattered throughout the custard to give it a nice crunch. The chocolate custard I tried was very rich, and the lemonade we had was just okay. Still, it was a good price for fresh custard!
