Wanted to grab a meal before attending an event at the La Crosse Center. Thought sandwiches would be relatively quick, and we weren’t in a huge hurry, we had allowed plenty of time. You order at the counter, they bring it to your table. Well after a very long wait, I asked about our order to see if it was going to be ready soon and was told that it would still be quite a while. They had one guy making the food. At this point we’d already waited for about 45 minutes. We got our refund and left, as did others there too, and we went to the event with empty stomachs. The event got done just before 10:00 pm, and guess what, all the food places stop serving at 10 pm! Still had a fun evening but my stomach was growling the whole time. Probably a great place to buy beer, but don’t bother if you want food on a busy event night.

Otherwise, Bodega is sure to have something for everyone. For out of towners, I recommend any New Glarus selection since it can only be sold in WI. Perfect warm cozy place to spend a winter’s evening in La Crosse. krismlars.com
