Stopped off for lunch in LaCrosse during a recent vacation. Was very impressed with the restaurant. Would recommend lunch outside on the patio if possible. Inside tends to be a little dark. Selection of beers was diverse, along with items on tap. Service was attentive, and quick! Soups were homemade and tasted as such (something you dont always get). Had the pastrami sandwich. Meat is smoked in house and is sliced Sundays. Had it on a Monday and was very impressed. As We have family across the river in Minnesota, we will be back to this restaurant.
Large outside eating area for a downtown location. Good, solid pub food at a fair price point. I had a Walnut burger with bacon, lettuce, tomato and an herb aioli on marble rye (you get your choice of bread). The herb aioli was stronger then I was prepared for and gives it a non burger flavor but by my second bite I was hooked ($11.25). My cup of soup – potato supreme – was tasty but just a tad bit salty. My husband order pan fried blackened walleye ($14.00). It came with nicely cooked asparagus and a big heap of mashed potatoes with Guinness gravy (yum). It was a nice piece of fish and he cleaned his plate. Having Harp Lager on draft is a plus in my book ($5 for 16 oz).
Good pub food. Especially like the burgers. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Outside seating is nice but fills up quickly. Recommend for a nice casual meal.
