Good NutBush Steal Sandwich and tasty ice tea
Bacon Blue burger looked great. The burger is a true 1/2 lb. and was cooked perfectly. My friend had it so I can’t say how it rates but he was very pleased. Chicken quesadilla was really good. The right balance of chicken onions and peepers. The cheese was spot on as well. 4 large triangles to an order. Large enough to be an entre or great item to share. The only downside was the chili. I had a cup and it was completely devoid of flavor. A sad note as I was hoping for greatness and new place in which to have some good chili. Sadly it was cafeteria grade chili at absolute best!! I will continue to try new things here.01 Dec, 2014The staff is really nice and playful. The food is great. Had the ultimate omelet and it was superb. It was massive but cooked perfectly. Filled with steak, sausage, ham, veggies and tons of them. If you’re hungry stop on by. You won’t be disappointed.
Great Burgers and Breakfast. It is cheap, has great food and has plenty of space. The service can be a bit slow and I had a bit of dirty stuff on my water glass, but hey, it is a bar before a restaurant. $15 bucks for burgers and drinks and I was stuffed, good place.
Ridiculously long wait for breakfast. I have been to the Nutbush 3 times for breakfast (never for lunch or dinner). I really wanted to like it. Really I did. They offer some good food. The Southern Benedict , topped with sausage gravy and cajun spices instead of Hollandaise, is good. The hotcakes are made with a beer batter, I believe, although the online menu doesn’t indicate this, and are pretty tasty. But the wait is what gets me.Now, I am not complaining about the wait to get a table. Good places are busy – I get that – so waiting anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes to get a table on a weekend morning is fine. The problem is the wait once you sit. The place is chronically understaffed, both with wait staff and cooks. It has taken up to 10 minutes to even get someone to swing by with water and menus, then up to 15 minutes to get our order taken. And that’s not even the worst part! The wait for food is painful. PAINFUL. It should not, in any universe, take 45 minutes to get some eggs and pancakes, and yet it does at Nutbush. Spending over an hour from when you sit, to when you receive your breakfast is ridiculous, wherever you are. And it wasn’t just once, trust me. We kept trying to like it, but after the third time, we vowed we won’t go there again. I hope that lunch and dinner are better experiences, but I won’t be finding out myself.
I love nutbush! They have great food at a great price, always have a fun time! If your in Lax make sure to stop by!
