A boutique hotel and my favorite place to stay while in La Crosse. The hotel restaurant serves delicious and artfully presented meals. Spendier than others in the area, the excellent service and meticulously preparation of every serving makes up for the price. Highly recommended!
A brand new boutique hotel in La Crosse with restaurant, full bar, and coffee shop. All the the Charmant staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the Charmant is a great addition to La Crosse (it’s in the old Ross Furniture building). The hotel highlights the building’s history as a candy factory and the design team did a great job of incorporating original elements of the building (wood floor, exposed bricks, etc.). The food and drinks are excellent, too! The prices are on the higher end for La Crosse standards, but still very reasonable by any other standard. I had a chance to try the burger, cheese curds, and omelette. The burger was pretty standard (on the Sunday bar special) but I’d say that the cheese curds are some of the best in town. At the Charmant, they lightly bread and fry fresh cheese curds which means they don’t end up greasy or heavy at all. Breakfast was also delicious – I had the omelette with foraged mushrooms, cheese and onions and my mom had the farm breakfast that came with these really wonderful fingerling potatoes. Many of the food is sourced locally. Also, it’s great to see a Wisconsin-style brandy old fashioned on the cocktail menu. krismlars.com
