I visited The Side Door the other day and was pretty impressed overall. They had an extensive beer menu for $5. We ended up going at happy hour, which made the drinks only $3! Also, they offer private outdoor seating, which is nice for this time of year. I’ll definitely be back!
Avoid the Pizzas. The pizza was terrible. I got the BBQ pork and my date the margarita pizza. Both pizza’s had far too much going on and had too busy of a flavor profile. I couldn’t taste the pork, since the cilantro, blue cheese, and sauce had such powerful flavors and were competing for my attention. Same problem with the margarita pizza, the raw onion in the pico masked the cilantro-pesto notes. Lastly, the crusts were very bland and card-board like. The server wasn’t particularly attentive to our table either. I saw her for the menu’s, waters, delivering food, and the check. I think this might have been because we had a Groupon? I wanted to order a drink from the beer menu, but she never came back. Also, there are no prices on the drink menu.
