What a disappointment... apart from the ravioli. This is an unusual modern place. You can't book and it was full - so obviously people love them. But …

An excellent dining experience. We started out with cocktails while we waited for a table. BTW – this place now accepts reservations (that’s a recent change). After a well-made Negroni, we were seated.Service was timely, helpful and attentive. For appetizers we ordered the lamb carpaccio and the foie gras mousse. The lamb carpaccio comes w/an egg yolk, corn shoots (a bit awkward to eat because they’re so long), grated parmigiana and a salsa verde. Very tasty, but the salsa verde dominated the dish, as it slightly overpowered the flavor of the lamb. The foie gras mousse was sublime. Sliced foie gras served on warm bombolini and lardo, with fig jam and drizzled balsamic, it was a show-stopper. Warm, salty, sweet, fatty (smooth and creamy) goodness that melted in your mouth, and the great flavor lingered for minutes after each bite. Mmmm…Spectacular. For main dishes, we ordered a chicken dish and the Wagyu ribeye. The chicken was served on a bed of navy beans w/chorizo and spinach in a chimichuri sauce. Excellent preparation and flavor. The Wagyu ribeye was correctly grilled and accompanied a rich lentil bean/onion/mushroom side dish. It stood up well to the ribeye, and was quite satisfying. For dessert, we looked at the nice offerings on the menu, and made the obvious choice…the foie gras. Again.Yep, we ordered the foie gras appetizer again, but this time 2 orders, for dessert. The desserts are probably excellent, but they weren’t gonna be better than that foie gras. It is that good. And I’ll do it all again soon…the foie gras, and the entire meal.Who knows, I may even try an actual dessert next time!
