Well let’s start with the food. I ordered 4 fish fry and let me say, I’d rather eat cat food then this trash. The only upside to my visit was the bus boys. So kind and most of them were cash money bosses
Interesting find…. Went to Erv’s Mug with some friends for drinks. It was a Friday night and they were packed- their friday fish fry is popular! The decor was fun, kind of old fashioned, but in a good way. Fantastic beer selections on tap. Recommend the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale- really good! Good service at the bar and a friendly mixed crowd of locals. Cool place- worth a visit.
More than for fish fry. I have always had good fish at Erv’s at their Friday night fish frys. For the first time we went there on a day other than Friday and we both ordered the steak and shrimp combo. Both were very good. The salad was a little skimpy, but the large portion of shredded onions made for it. They were crispy and not too greasy. I never thought of Erv’s as a steak place, but I do now. I know the place can get crowded on Friday, so if you like it quieter, go a different night.
AWFUL. I would not recomend this over stuffed (elbow to elbow crowd) to anyone. Prices are rediculas as far as Friday Fish goes. Drink prices (your better off going downtown). May I suggest going to Jim Dandys on S. 27th. Much more comfortable.20 Oct, 2012Bad News. Five of us dined here 10/19. As far as we were concerned this PLACE is a complete disaster. This PLACE is nothing more than a overstuffed bar. The drink prices are absolutly ridiculas. If you like to eat elbow to elbow here is the JOINT. Not to mention the noise. Service WELL we were hardly finishing our soup and our entres were coming. Talk about greed. They just like to keep packing thm in at our expense HURRY HURRY HURRY. I would never patronize this JOINT again. There are to many GOOD places in Milwaukee to put up with such trash.
Friday fish fry. Baked fish was kinda dry. Not sure how the fried was. It’s very cramped in the dining area, and very loud. Service was good. Don’t think I’ll go back.
Food n service stinks. I went to ervs with 2 friends one had the greasy fish and didnt think it was cod and the other had sandwiches we had a couple beers them were good but the price for quality and taste sucks. someone had the beans and there are not pecans in the beans why would you call them pecans
Great food & service but watch out for the Management!. Dined here about a month ago with my husband. We loved the decor and our server, Liza, was great. She was very attentive and gave us great service even though the management kept giving her table after table rather than going by the usual rotation. The french onion soup was hot and tasty, the same went for our fish fry. The pieces were large, and the fish remained flaky while the batter was crunchy-well done. We noticed that management just barked orders the entire time and didn’t smile once – even at any of the customers. The busboy seemed like he had no business being there either-lazy,slow,rude. So, will we return? Yes, but hopefully the managers take the sticks out of their…well, you get the picture. Prices were a little on the high side, but the food speaks for itself.
