Stopped in on a whim, sat right away in the cool old railway depot full of vintage decor. Window booth with a view of real trains passing right outside. Complementary bread was a nice start. I had the daily special soup and lasagna. Soup was Chicken and Dumplings, pretty good. Lasagna however… TERRIFIC! Huge portion with garlic bread on the side. I’m not Italian, but it was some of the best i’ve eaten. Managed to save room for a piece of Butterfinger Cake, also a great choice. Waitress was kind and well informed, would totally recommend! Must visit for and Train fans! Trying to find an excuse to come back this way soon!
Would Not Recommend. Recently ate here and while the food is OK the service and staff is not great. The restaurant has changed and in the past was a great spot to eat at in Oconomowoc. I would not recommend eating and hope management understands the value of FRIENDLY customer service.
Great experience!. My boyfriend and I went to Maxim’s for dinner and loved it! We both ordered sandwichs, mine with soup and his with fries. It was way more than we could eat! Very flavorful!!!! Even though we couldn’t finish our sandwichs we still ordered dessert to go. And that was fantastic as well! I love the turtle cheesecake and my boyfriend enjoyed the HUGE cherry turnover!!! The service was wonderful as well! We will definitely be back!
I’ve gone here many times. Friday late lunch I had very bad service. Waited so long for a Cesar Wrap. It was bland & not the way I ordered it. Waitress apologized. Talk to the manager about the problems. At check out the manager was very reluctant to adjust price for the bad service. Told me not to tip the waitress. I was extremely frustrated with the managers attitude. I had expected customer service but got zip. Not sure I will be back. The rest of our party was surprised as well.

Not what it used to be….. Over the years the quality has gone down. Portions are smaller and the food is not as good. I used to love the crispy chicken salad and then they changed the chicken. I will still go for breakfast. Kids like dining here because there is always the possibility of a train going by.
