Unbelievably great food!. What a pleasant surprise in this beautiful little town! Very friendly staff and the chips and salsa are amazing. The fish tacos are delicious as is the beef chimichanga! This is definitely one of the best places to eat authentic Mexican food.
Originally, I loved La Tolteca. The food seemed reasonably priced, the service.was good and the chips and salsa were enough to keep coming back. Recently, I’ve been finding more and more reasons to stop giving them my patronage. You name it and I’ve seen it: illness after consuming their food, horrible drinks, cold entrees, serving entrees at different times to members of the same party, dirty tables, adult servers flirting with high school girls instead of taking care of their tables. Please, La Tolteca, improve!

We called ahead and the owner gave us a margarita discount! Also, a friend of mine wasn’t even hungry an he ate his whole plate- so the food was great;)
The food is better than your typical super Americanized Mexican food. It’s only moderately Americanized. The carnitas are great but the margaritas are aweful. They look and taste like someone mixed windshield washer fluid in your rail tequila. They definitely are not for those who think tequila should be treated with respect.
