Great Tom Yum soup. One of my favorite places in Madison. Quality is consistent and not overly pricey.
I’ll be back. I went here for lunch a few days ago, and really enjoyed my Thai coffee, and one of the curries. It didn’t look like a lot of food, but I was pleasantly full the rest of the afternoon. They have green papaya salad, which is next on my list!
Short Changed. Never go back to Sa Bai Thong as I went there with a friend some months ago an it was poor. The waitperson we had seemed annoyed we were there, it was a slow day and there was only one other table. My friend only had their version of Red curry not very good I had some but had eaten before picking her up so that was the only item we ordered. I was paying so gave wait staff a twenty for the one entree it came to about $9 I think. We sat and waited and waited. After fifteen minutes I got up to ask about the change and was told she thought it was a tip and was very pouty about giving back my change. Do they often get over a 100% in tips, I doubt it. I am usually a great tipper and fair about it but this time no.
Great food, great prices. I’ve gone here every time I’m in Madison for the past 20 years, and I’ve never been disappointed. Very reliable and incredibly tasty. My mouth waters when I get on that street because I know what is waiting at Sa Bai Thong!
I have been to this location several times and loved it. The atmosphere is very comfortable and fun. A very large menu with so many great options and also extremely affordable. I love the Crab Rangoon to start. The Tom Yum soup is perfect for two. Finally with so many great dinner options I consistently find my self gravitating to the Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao. I can not wait to return.
Everyone says they love this place. I don’t. Dined in once, crappy service. Ordered take-out twice, neither of which I enjoyed that much. Meh.
