Left hungry. My husband had to stop someplace else for more food after we spent $$$ here. I enjoyed the food, but he absolutely will not go back.
High hopes. This is a really special place – it was packed, noisy and clearly had gourmet written allover it. So hey just pizza?? Had a wonderful salad that could have had more cheese on it – now the pizza cooked in a real pizza oven thin crust was all wonderful but is was missing 1/2 the toppings it should have had on it. The flavors were few and far because of the lack of topping.
It was good but they used shredded mozzarella instead of fresh…. Cute place. Chewy pizza that hurt my jaw. But overall it’s a very popular place to go.
Gluten Free Crust!. My family enjoys eating at this quaint yet authentic pizzeria. My husband and I are gluten intolerant and my son has a wheat allergy, so finding a restaurant to eat at has been a struggle. At Il Ritrovo not only can we just eat, but we ENJOY fresh and tasty salads and gluten free pizza. If you have other sensitivities (like to cow dairy) they have two other options…goat cheese or GF soy cheese alternative. If there is room, I suggest you try the sorbet. They have a fantastic selection of flavors. Our favorite is the coconut sorbet. (the sorbets are served in fruit of that flavor…coconut is served in a coconut shell, lemon is served in a hollowed out lemon skin.) Pricier compared to other pizza joints, but when you crave quality or have food intolerance this place can not be beat; it is well worth the extra expense.
