Save Your Money. I do not usually like writing poor reviews, but our experience with take-out at Thai Cafe Restaurant was just bad. The chicken pad thai was incredibly bland and had no visible chicken. The pad khing sod looked and tasted identical to the pad gra prow. They were both very bland and relatively small portions for the price. The plain white rice that came with the dishes was also cooked to a paste and disgusting. For a place that didn’t even cook white rice correctly, we sincerely wish we had saved our money and eaten elsewhere. Sorry.
OK place. The pho is good, and so is the sexy salad. Sadly the fried rice is not cooked the way it shold be. The egg rolls barely have meet and has way too much cabbage. The spring rolls have only rice noodles, shrimp, and lettuce. There needs to be cucumber, cilantro, and carrots.
The food is not authentic. I went there Friday evening after having lunch at Toy’s on Thursday. Let’s just say the two dish I had seemed like anyone can just pour soy sauce and oyster sauce over it. I can do that myself at home. There was no taste at all. I saw a bunch of cars in the parking lot which was what drew me in, but I found out that most of the cars are there for pool table downstairs in the basement. Only a few people were actually there for the food, now I know why. Never going back there….maybe if I’m in the mood for a game of pool, then I’ll go there. Plus the customer service was poor, didn’t get my refill water until I was going to leave and was too late.
Decent food, quick service.. I’m not very familiar with Thai food but this place seems to be fairly authentic. I know when business associates from Asia are in town they usually make a trip to here. The food was pretty good, they ask you how spicy you want it and when I made an estimate of 3/5 it turned out well. I avoided the beef after reading these reviews, and my dish was pretty good. Overall it was good but not great.
Worst Thai food I’ve ever had. I was completely disappointed with my beef pad thai. Like someone else mentioned, they apparently use ground beef rather than beef slices in their beef dishes. To me this showed that they were cutting corners with the quality of their meat. I have been to many oriental restaurants an have never seen this before. I ate less than half and definitely did not want to take my leftovers home. I will never eat there again.
Delicous. I’m originally from California and moved to Wisconsin 3 years ago at the age of 25, so I have eaten at some of the best restraunts in Southern California. I have eaten at hundreds of oriental style restraunts and being half japanese have been spoiled when it comes to oriental food. The Thai Cafe though is one of the best Thai/Mixed style restraunts I have ever eaten at. Their Pho is exceptional, like the Pho my friends Vietnamese grandmother would make for us. Their prices are decent, the food is excellent and the service is what you would expect from a family Thai ran restraunt lol. But I absolutely recommend this restraunt!!!
LOOOOOOVE. My favorite restaurant in the city. I am addicted to the Tom Kah Gai soup and Mus-Sa-Mun curry. Both delicious. They’ve got something for everyone. Yum!
