Hands down, the best park chop I have ever had. The owner is a great guy and told me they use locally sourced Berkshire pork. They soak the pork chop …

Overpriced.. I have been to the black pig for lunch several times. It is a place you can count on to have you in and out within the constraints of your lunch hour, which is nice. The ingredients do seem fresh and home-made. There is an issue with pricing and portion size though, particularly with the salads. Salads that include no protein, such as chicken or pork, are priced at over 10 dollars, and are half the size (if that) of salads at other places. The portion wouldn’t be as big a deal if there were components to this salad that made it worth the price, or at least a bit more filling. I had a salad there that was just basically beets and lettuce, with a couple nuts sprinkled on…probably not one whole beets worth either. It was pretty pathetic. Needless to say, I will think twice before I go there for lunch again if I expect that lunch to get me through the rest of my work day without making me want to eat my own arm.
Loved every bite. My mother took me out to the Black Pig for the first time. She ordered the special which was a beef stew and I had the spinach salad. The stew was so rich and savory, the meat practically melted in your mouth. The salad was also well dressed and had high quality spinach. Our waitress was also very friendly, the food came out in a good amount of time, and I loved the comfortable atmosphere.
Whata a disappointment!. One of the best things in Sheboygan used to be Margaux. Why on earth did the owners decide to change their restaurant???? Anyway being that we have always loved the chefs and owner’s other food we went to check it out. The food was sub par and greasy and the service was terrible. We even had one of the same servers we originally had at Margaux. The food took forever to come out and not one of us in our party of four enjoyed their entre. The decor is not aesthetically pleasing – I don’t particularly like to look at pictures of pigs in their various habitats while I dine. Though i was frequent guest of the owner’s other establishments I will not be revisiting the unappetizing, unappealing Black pig.
Excellent Addition to Sheboygan!. Black Pig is our family’s new favorite restaurant!! We have been looking for a restaurant like this for years. It has a casual atmosphere with delicious food. We brought our family of five and had a perfect evening and everyone enjoyed their meals. The gluten free options were clearly labeled which made ordering much easier for our son who has a gluten intolerance. Our other two boys ordered a burger, fries and the flatbread pizza. We started with the fries that are fried in duck fat….a must have! My husband ordered the mussels and the truffle mac and cheese. He was very impressed. I started with the arugula and broccoli salad…amazing! I will definitely order it again. I had difficulty making a decision for an entree so I chose a couple of small plates. I highly recommend the broccoli and sausage. The sauce is to die for!!! I also enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms. The service was excellent and we will definitely be back soon. My husband and I will be back to sit at the bar and watch the NCAA tournament on the two large screen TVs while sipping on some yummy cocktails.
Noisy. Had dinner on Friday evening with friends. Food was very good, however, the restaurant was so noisy, we could not have a conversation with each other. Just ate and left and had drinks elsewhere so we could catch up.
Great for Sheboygan. Had dinner at the Black Pig this past Saturday with my 3 young adults and wife. Impressed. Made a reservation for 6.30pm and they were prompt. Service was very attentive. Michael our waiter explained everything and keep great tabs on us. My 30 something daughter is very picky and lives in Milwaukee and has plenty to compare with. She loved it.Food….we had the Stella Artois Mussels in parsley and cream. Excellent. Berkshire Pork Egg Rolls were amazing. Stuffed Mushrooms with bacon and fresh herbs, out of this world good.Wife had the New Yorker sandwhich. Tons of corned beef, spicy brown mustard and horseradish sauce. Just as tasty as when Rob the owner ran the New York on 8th Deli years ago.I had the Cajun Mac with gulf shrimp and andouille sausage. LOVED IT. It has a nice bite to it, but is very flavorful.Girls had the White Truffle Oil and Black Pepper fries. I stole a bunch of these as they were quite amazing. They split salads and the Roasted Mushroom Broccoli & Roasted Garlic oil Mac. I never got to taste it because they loved every bite. Not to be missed…the Chocolate Smore for dessert. HUGE home made marshmallow with chocolate mousse and a funky candied won ton cracker. This was worth the trip alone! As was the Mixed Berry Shortcake. This isn’t your father’s Sheboygan supper club. Go with a group of friends or family and order a variety of the small plates and graze! We did and we will be back for sure!
