I was a cook at Willy Ty’s. Their hiring process is great until they fire you 3 days later because they already have too many cooks. Also none of their cooks wear gloves and the food is definitely not fresh. The food is overpriced and they use dirty utensils to cook it with. If you’re looking to spend 13$ on a grade C hamburger fries and drink look no further then willy Ty’s. Let me say that again… Their cooks do not wear gloves. The place is disgusting and the food isn’t special.
We went last night for our anniversary and both ordered the brisket on a pretzel bun. It was awful. The sauce was a mustard barbecue and was bitter. The iced tea was watered down so much it almost tasted like my water. Asked for some normal BBQ sauce to mask the butter taste and got charged .50 for a tiny condiment cup. They weren’t responsive to our comment that the sandwich was not good. We will not recommend or go here again. Also, for $12.00 you would think the bun would have a nice amount of meat but that was not the case. Disappointed to say the least.
We have patronized Willy Ty’s several times and have always had a great experience. Nice casual atmosphere with very friendly waitstaff. From the burgers to the grilled cheese to the delicious sweet potato fries with aoli ….never disappointed. Food is served hot, drinks ice cold and the owner is always appreciative of your business. Give it a try.
This is my favorite place to go when I’m on the Madison area. I enjoy trying the special grilled cheeses (always good) but I love a gooey louie.
Great place for a quick bite. Stopped with our family after a baseball game. Food was outstanding. Had brisket on a pretzel bun. Others had cheese stuffed burger and turkey pesto. Everyone loved it!!
Terrible service, we walked out!. Way too small and it’s NEW! Crowded, 1 new bartender on a busy Friday night that was chatting with friends and not serving customers. People lounging at high tops while our party waiting to be seated there. No where to wait without bumping into people. The food we saw come out, which was very little, didn’t look impressive for the prices listed. Server didn’t know how many fish in the special. Ughh. Will not even try to go there agaqin. Close and fix your problems!
Sun Prairie has needed this place for a while. My wife and I have ben to Willie Ty’s three times now since they opened and are thrilled. After the other burger joint in town disappointed us we found Willie Ty’s to be more flavorful and better cooked (not always grey). Last night I tried the flatbread and it was great. Crispy thin crust, ranch, bacon and chicken toping were all tasty. My wife had the grilled cheese with bacon and apple. The bread wasn’t too greasy and the cheese was melted just right. The tomato bisque was the best she has ever had. For an appetizer we tried the jalapeno corn bread and it tasted like it was made fresh. Awesome! The only thing that was an A+ was the fish fry we tried on the second Friday they were open. It wasn’t a bad fish fry but it wasn’t any better than others. We’ll give them some time and try it again. Beer tap selection is good too.
