Best burritos, dry pancakes
Pam is such a lovely person! My wife and I loved having her as our server! The spicy black bean soup is phenomenal and my wife loved her sweet potato burrito with hot salsa! Absolutely delicious. We will be back!!
Fresh, Delicious Eats on the Eastside!. I love B&B. I’d try anything & everything on their menu, hands down. Their sweet potato & bean burrito is to die for– it’s fresh, delicious, and veggie-friendly! In fact, a large portion of their menu is veggie/other dietary restrictions- friendly. Their desserts are equally as wonderful as the normal menu.B&B is part cafe, part grocery/miscellaneous store, but not in an awkward way; the two are distinctly separated. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Milwaukee, and always a go-to dinner plan. Yum.
The tempeh Reuben was to die for. I ate it hours ago and already wish I had another one. The service was great. I highly recommend.
Terrible Service. This evening my husband and I stopped in for what we thought would be a quick bite. Since it was a 20 minute wait for a table we decided to order carryout. We placed our order, and were told 15 minutes for it to be ready and proceeded to the counter to pay. 30 minutes later we asked if they could check on our order. The service behind the counter was rude and said it had only been 25 minutes and should be ready any minute. (with a how dare you ask look) 10 minutes later someone came out to let us know that they had lost our food ticket and were just starting to cook our meal. But they would love to offer us a cookie while we waited.Seriously? 40 minutes after our original takeout order we were offered a cookie? Who wants to eat a cookie before your dinner? Obviously no one had checked on our food when we asked. The management was unapologetic and insincere. We asked for our money back and left without our food.Honestly! We are new to the area and have had great luck when trying all of the locally owned restaurants off Brady St. This was a huge disappointment and we will not return. If you’re looking for good food AND service, Beans & Barley is not for you.
Inconsistent, but will return to try again. I’ve been here 3 times and ordered the same dish each time. The first time it was amazingly good. The second time it was decent, and the last time it was down-right nasty. I wonder if the food-quality depends on the cook? The grocery take-out service, on the other hand, is great. Come after 8 PM and they discount some items.
Hmn. Portobello fajitas!!!
