Colectivo- once Alterra – the original location. Excellent spaces to drink coffee and chat, both inside and out. Some of the energy this place generated years ago has gone missing now, somehow, but the brand is reliable.
More than coffee. This is a wonderful coffee shop Starbucks should be this good. The breakfast food and sandwiches are out of this world, more than enough and great prices. Buy some coffee then you there as well
Local Yolk-el. I had the local yolk-el breakfast sandwich yesterday and it was the best breadfast sandwich I have ever had. Typical of the Prospect Avenue Alterra location the cashier could have been friendlier, but the sandwich was great.
Great Coffee, fun atmosphere. I used Alterra as a meeting spot and a mobile office. The staff are great, and this is a good place for great coffee and a quick breakfast. The music is a nice change from Starbucks.
Worth a trip to see the renovation. The Prospect Ave. Alterra recently underwent renovations to the cafe. Now there are exponentially more seats, a new coffee bar – where they pour hot water over coffee grounds and filter it into your cup drip by drip – and free WiFi all day. They seem to have hired new, friendlier baristas, as I remember the ones pre-renovation to be snotty and not very polite. I call the Humboldt Ave. location my favorite, but this one now comes in at a close second. Alterra roasts my favorite coffee, hands-down.
Coffe for the taste of it. Less style and more taste here at Alterra. Their locations in the city are excellent (well the mall locations aren’t but…) atmosphere and beverage taste is super.
