Amazing Great Dane Pub Wings. I have been to Great Dane many times but I never tried the Great Dane Pub wings before. My husband and I ordered 12 with the Stout BBQ sauce. He doesn’t like spicy. They were amazing. Coupled with the Gorgonzola Creamy Sauce, they were so good. Messy but good. When our meal came, neither of us were very hungry but the Meatloaf was tasty and Bill enjoyed his Petite Sirloin. The band from Nashville, Daniel and the Lion’s Den made our outside meal even more enjoyable. Ashley, our waitress was excellent even though they got really busy after we arrived.
Interesting.. The food was amazing. Everyone’s very close though. I went the Great Dane with my boyfriend’s family and we were very squished. Wished that they would have more room in the booths. LOL 🙂 But, it was alright. Love the building.
Long waits. Even longer waits once at table, took ten minutes for waitstaff to come to table aftet waiting 25 mins to be seated. Very young staff. Slow service. Only okay food. One order was wrong, never got an apology. One Plus, hummus is great!
The South by South West Cob salad is what i always order. And the bread with honey butter is wonderful!
Their idea of gluten free is no bun burgers and salads. Now that might be consider to some people gluten friendly but deffenantly not gluten free. Serves was terrible in this order. 1. Asked for an ice water, when it came it came with a rapper from a red crayon in it, 2. All five of us (three adults, 2 children 10years and 2years) ordered fries with our meals, only one of us got fries, 3. Put cheese on prime rib wrap when was spacificly told of lactose intolerance. In the waitresses defense..,I’m pretty sure she didn’t know Gouda was a cheese. That’s really sad! 4. Brought wrap back a second time now only thing in the wrap is prime rib. What happened to the peppers and onions! 5. Waitress tells us because of all the mistakes she has taken one of the beers off our bill as well the wrap THEY messed up. So that saved us a total of $2.75. Wow!
Decent Food. I wouldn’t say the food at the Great Dane Pub has fantastic food, but it was ok. They were able to seat us right away at 9pm on a Friday night. The bar area was nice, but the parties downstairs were a little loud (strong bass beats) and multiple people coming up from the party to the bar then going back down. I had the prime rib wrap and it was not too bad. I particularly enjoyed the veggies and dip as a side. My husband had the Great Dane Brat & Burger Pretzel Burger and he loved it! The burger was large and too much for him to finish.
Disappointing. I have been to the Great Dane several times but I have no idea why I keep going back. The food is mediocre at best but the fairly low prices make up for that. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bartender smile. If you like a late dinner, do not go to the Dane on a Saturday night. At around 9pm bass that could wake the dead starts emanating from the bar and you suddenly feel like you are in an episode of the Jersey Shore. The Dane did recently open an outdoor patio which seemed like a way to get away from the Club scene inside but the music is so loud outside, you have to yell for others to hear you. We asked a server if they could turn the music down and they did, for one song that is. It seems the Great Dane is more interested in being a club than a restaurant.
