I’m really surprised by all of the negative reviews. Ginza is one of my favorite restaurants. Their salads and miso soup are good, they have excellent appetizers, and they have a great, varied entree menu. I love the Jason rolls and the Wauwatosa rolls especially. Even my husband, who doesn’t love Japanese food, likes Ginza. He loves their yakisoba. The prices are a little higher than I’d like, but for the good food and good service, I can’t complain too much.
First timer for sushi!. My friends had decided to do a ladies night out and wanted sushi. While I had tried it before, I was pretty sure I couldn’t make a meal of it. I was wrong. All 6 of us ordered something different and it was great. The prices were very fair as well.We will definitely be back!
Nothing special with poor service. Food was nothing great, had late lunch, server was unattentive and lazy, never refilled water even after we asked for it, instead she brought us our check, meaning get the heck out, lunch is over. I can handle bad food might even go back but when the service is bad and restaurant seems it’s lacking in customer service wont go back
Liked it!. My fiance and I ordered some sushi, chicken teriyaki, and yakitori. We had it delivered to our apartment; the food was really fresh and tasty. We will definately order from them again.
The sushi and options here are decent, it’s too bad the service is possibly the worst. The first time we came here there was only one other table of two there, yet the server sat down and ignored us for 10 minutes. The second time was better so we came back. It was busy due to the groupon but there were over 10 people working in front. Despite the line, families with kids sat drinking wine taking up tables for an hour. Kids were loud and ran around with their bad parents ingnoring it, but fortunately that was on the other side of the restaurant. We ordered and waited about 10 minutes for an appetizer. No salad and 20 minutes have gone by. It wasn’t because they were busy as tables around us who came AFTER us were receiving their dinners and we didn’t even have salad. Dinner came and it was wrong because of the blaring Top 40 music at deafening levels (what sushi restaurant plays American top 40 music?). Totally forgot the salad. By the time we got the right food it was late and tables around us that came after us were done and gone. A giant sushi boat came to people who came after us! Although the food is good, the horrible service makes me want to make the farther drive to somewhere else. Because it is close we returned and twice our order was brought out wrong and almost every time we had terrible service. They seat you and then leave you sit for 10 minutes. This has happened most often when there are only 2 other people in the restaurant. You can see your server sitting at the bar watching tv, staring at his hands, or talking to another person, or staring at the wall. Even when they have nothing to do…you wait. They also make mistakes in orders. The first time the girl got very angry with us because she brought the wrong rolls and had to have the hostess talk to us because she did not speak English and we did not speak Chinese. They made the right ones at no charge but were very rude about it. The second time, the waiter misunderstood that I wanted hand rolls. I asked how many came in one serving and he asked if I wanted enough for two people. I said yes and… well, I ended up with california rolls somehow which I could pick up at any grocery store. He refused to correct the mistake and I had to order the hand roll in addition to the wrong order. Being ignored by rude waiters who constantly get your order wrong is NOT worth having a local sushi restaurant. I’ll make the 20 minute drive next time to get better and fancier rolls with better presentation, and better service.
Definitely better then Fujiyama but I would still suggest a different place for sushi…. Staff was nice and place seemed fairly clean… Mid grade food for sure tho
Average Sushi, Good Noodles. I’ve been here twice now, and learned from the first time that the sushi isn’t the way to go if you really understand and enjoy good Japanese food. I will start by saying that no Sushi is the Milwaukee is truly authentic, but Ginza’s was not close. Too much time and effort is put into the presentation and sauces poured on the sushi and not enough on the actual tatse of the raw ingredients. That being said, the Seafood Udon is some of the best I’ve tasted in Milwaukee. The broth was very flavorful and the seafood was delicious. If you want sushi, this isn’t your best bet, but the noodles are worth a shot.
