Excellent Indian Food For A Great Price. I have tried this restaurant on a number of occasions including several dinners and one lunch buffet. Every time for the dinners we’ve been greeted by the friendly server/hostess and treated well. The prices for the dinner selections are very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. Every time I have been asked if I would like more rice when they saw it was getting low. The rice is well cooked and goes well with the dishes. I have had the Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Vindaloo, and Chicken Saagwala. I have also tasted Coconut Chicken, Mango chicken, and Goat Curry. The dishes were all very flavorful and well balanced in terms of flavor and texture. The chicken has been consistent in terms of flavor and moistness. Most if not all dishes can be made mild, medium, hot, or very hot. I usually go with medium as I like some spice but not too overbearing. I have also had a variety of naan breads and soups when all were all very good. If you like ginger, try the ginger naan. The garlic naan is also very good. The soups and desserts are quite tasty as well. The lunch buffet when I went was fresh and tasty. I went at about 12:30pm. There is a nice variety of popular dishes to choose from including Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat Curry (which contains bones) and many others. I would suggest getting to the buffet early as the day goes on some food might dry out. The buffet is a great value for the price and is well worth checking out for a quick delicious meal. Bottom line, while I’m no expert in Indian food by any means, Tandoor is a very good Indian restaurant in the area. I would suggest trying them out to see for yourself. Because of the consistency in the quality of the food, service, and overall experience, I plan on continuing to eat there for my fill of Indian food.
Fantastic Indian Food. I live right next door, and frequent this place often. Don’t get the buffet, order from the menu and you will be very pleased. Make sure you get nan with your food, its fantastic!
Amazing!. My boyfriend and I went here on 2.18.11. Most of our Indian food dining has been in Chicago, the food here is amazing and very authentic. I would for sure recommend Tandoor to ANYONE looking for great Indian food in Milwaukee. The atmosphere isn’t the greatest but the food is definetly worth it!
It’s always nice to find a good Indian restaurant that isn’t overpriced. We went to Tandoor for lunch on a Sunday. I ordered the Chicken Makhani with a side of poori; both were very good. The others in my group got the buffet, which looked quite good, but seemed to have a somewhat limited variety of dishes offered.
Highly recommended. I have been coming to this restaurant for the past 7 years and was a bit worried about the management change. To my surprise the menu now includes a whole host of South Indian dishes in addition to the North Indian that we are all used to. I was happy to see that we now have a restaurant with south Indian food in the Milwaukee area. The service staff was very attentive and friendly. The new owner personally greeted every customer. I came on a Saturday to try their lunch Buffett. It included a mix of dishes from various parts of India. The Biryani, lamb curry Dhal Tadka and Halwa were excellent as well as some of the other dishes. Having lived in various parts of the country and the world I’m glad to have a good Indian restaurant in Milwaukee that compares highly to others. I highly recommend it.
Fabulous Indian Cusine!!. I had dinner at Tandor on 8-10-2010. There is an extensive menu. The food is authentic and the owners greet and serve the customers. This was a wonderful dining experience!!
Always love the Indian buffet. Fresh nan to the table, real spice to the dishes. Always come back for more.
