Very disappointing!. Ive tried many times to like this bakery…but no matter how many chances I give it….it’s just not good so I’m done! I used to stop in for donuts on Sunday mornings…the place was always busy at that time. I got very basic donuts several times and always found them to be extremely greasy! I was lucky if I could get them home without them falling through the bag due to the grease that accumulated on the bottom. They always had a limited selection…and I guess I kept hoping they would be get better…they didnt! I haven’t bought a donut there in years.Recently I had heard that they sold French macarons…I had eaten some that were fantastic from other bakeries in town so I finally decided to try Reginas version. I was a bit disappointed with the selection as they only had two flavors – mint and almond. Most bakeries that carry macarons have at least 4 – 6 flavors at any given time. The almond was a little odd in itself as a French macaron is by definition an almond cookie – always made with ground almond or almond powder. (To clarify, I’m talking about the delicate sandwich cookie that comes in a rainbow of colors not the coconut macaroon that is more common.)I bought one of each they were simply awful! The texture was all wrong…the cookie should be crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside…this was basically a puff of meringue that disintegrated as soon as you bit it. No chew at all. The mint was way too strong, but okay. The almond was absolutely awful! It was definitely made with imitation almond extract that left a horrible aftertaste. I took one bite and threw it away!I have never understood how this bakery stays in business…..but this was the last time I will ever walk in the door. To sum up – greasy, poorly executed, just plain bad-tasting bakery. Awful!
Yummy Pastries and Baked Goods. I have gone to this bakery in WFB for years. Although they are best known for special occasion cakes, their pastries and baked goods are to die for. I am especially fond of their fresh raspberry tart. They us all the best ingredients. The raspberries are huge. The crust uses real butter, not cheaper subtitutes like margerine or shortening, etc., that even some of their high end competitors nearby use, but charge the same. Regina’s fresh fruit tarts come in sizes from individual to larger ones. I also love their pecan sticky buns, a treat for a weekend breakfast or brunch.
Best Cakes. This is the best bakery around for speciality cakes!!! The customer service is better than anywhere else.
Wedding cake. I got my wedding cake from Bay Bakery and I still hear from people that it was the best cake they’ve ever had. I loved it too.
