The barbecue is very oily and they always reheat it. the people are great but the food is terrible unless you like very oily meat. The prime rib is smoked to a dry meat but the canned beef broth to dip into helped.
Jims BBQ. I was very exited when I saw this place open. Yes, they had a moveable shack before the resturant. I went once to the shack and once to the resturant. Hoping for some home-made real food! Yes, it’s home-made but reheated probable for a few days. I never seem to catch it fresh, no matter though, it’s not that great. Not bad, just not great-could just be my taste though. Sorry.
Just falls short. It is just ok for real bbq–seldom is anything not reheated vs served fresh. ribs I’ve tasted have been more like meat jello then toothsome. Sides are fair at best with no bread(muffin/biscuit) choices. Also wish there was brisket on the menu rather then pulled chuck roll.Jim is an excellent host and in an area with no bbq tradition they have a loyal following that enjoys there food but to me it just quite hit very high on the bbq meter
