Cozy, friendly, great food. Very cozy atmosphere in a historic home in downtown Jackson. Friendly staff, many choices of fish, beef, game and vegetarian dishes. Delicious desserts and nice wine list. Will go back!!! Ask for the early bird discount before 6 and you get 20% off discount.

Elk is good but nothing special. Although the lamb is their signature dish and is attmitedly good I’ve had better and it’s really nothing to write home about. Bar scene is just plain bad. Probably won’t go back if I’m the one paying

Great. My wife & I had a great meal. She convinced me to get the lamb & it was awesome. Her halibut was perfectly cooked & delicious. Apps were good too. Wine list is a bit ordinary & small but okay. Packed house on a busy Friday night & they nailed it. Will go back for sure!

Stay away. Riding on their reputation, nothing more. Sent the vile ahi tuna back. There’s a reason they offer 20 percent off until 6:30 pm. The food Is marginal.

My wife and I dined at The Blue Lion on the very last day of the off-season specials (i.e., just before the Christmas rush), so all entrees were BOGO. Everyone talks about the rack of lamb, so that’s what I ordered. I can attest to the fact that it’s completely fabulous. I’ve eaten lamb at plenty of fine restaurants, and this is the finest rack of lamb I’ve ever had. It’s not cheap at $40, but that’s a great deal when it’s 2-for-1 off-season. My wife ordered a really nice drink as well; I can’t remember the name but it had jalepeno in it (kind of like a spicy margarita in a martini glass). The rest of the meal was nothing to write home about, but the lamb and the drink were both exceptional, and the off-season prices made the whole thing a slam dunk for us. Recommended.

Too expensive for quality inconsistencies. Elk was very good. Halibut was mushy. Sides just so, so. Would like to see them raise the bar on their wine list. Also, our red wine came to the table nice and warm. Very disappointing

Price point doesn’t match product. Contrary to many ads and reviews, here in Jackson, not all locals love Blue Lion. Two $35.- plates (1; Elk Diane & 2; Duck). Elk was superb. Duck was okay. Both plates piled with pre-packaged baby carrots, barely even seasoned at that, and sub-par starches most likely paired with other, more suitable, dishes. Server was nice, but flakey. The price point most definitely did not match the product. I have heard the rack of lamb is amazing…too bad I will never go there again and risk overpaying for something I could have easily gone someplace else for, or, less easily, learned how to make. Run, I tell you, run.
