In it you can breathe a unique and charming aroma mixed with its art nouveau decoration of yesteryear. The furniture, including its Italian chairs and the facade, have been preserved since the beginning. So me and my gf went just for a pre dinner drink. The Campari and OJ was delicious. Very cute and quaint place and many were having dessert — they had a display case with a number of yummy looking tart/pies.
We did not eat here only had a couple of drinks. Super cute spot with a nice whiskey/scotch selection. The baked good looked outstanding. Worth a stop for sure. Super cute and cozy.
I loved the ambience of this place. The photos, drawings and paintings on the wall, the feeling you’ve stepped back in time, the ornate architecture and design. Good location and great for coffee and croissants
My partner and I visited this beautiful old cafe (apparently one of the oldest in Montevideo) for breakfast. We had a completo and a Ciudad Vieja, and both were fantastic. Staff were very friendly and prices reasonable. Highly recommend!
A very cool little cafe very near Independence Plaza. The coffee is good, of course but what excited my wife was actual American breakfast options. Eggs and toast with jam and omelettes.
The oldest Cafe in Montevideo was a good place to have their famous coffee. I had a good time there.
As Montevideo’s oldest cafe, this place certainly oozes old-school charm and nostalgia. Came here for an early morning breakfast and coffee. Soaked in the romantic atmosphere in the quiet mornings in Old Town. Worth a visit if you’re int he area!
