A super hip eatery right across from where we were staying in SOMA – Zero Zero, the name itself intrigued me. A little age old reunion dinner happened here. Loved the vibe of the place – ambiance, interiors, decor, everything was on point, including the service. We sat down on a table upstairs and ordered:Baby Kale SaladJumbo AsparagusGnocchiI’m not a big fan of Salads for dinner, but the company wanted to eat a good salad, try a different one. The Baby Kale Salad seemed like an appropriate pick – I didn’t try it, but they looked like they were thoroughly enjoying the salad. The Jumbo Asparagus really was jumbo – long, very long asparagus stalks, that were fried and seasoned. A very simple dish, but packs a punch for sure. Enjoyed eating this. The vegetarian Gnocchi was presented beautifully – but all of us were somewhat on the fence about how much we enjoyed eating this dish. The Gnocchi itself was slightly tough – unlike the usual buttery soft, melt in your mouth Gnocchi’s. The sauce on the other hand was pretty delicious. Overall it was just a little better than an average dish.Food – 3/5Service – 4/5Ambiance – 3.5/5Value for Money – 2.5/5I don’t know why, but I had very high expectations for some delicious Italian food from Zero Zero. But my eating experience wasn’t unforgettable. The place left me longing for some really good pasta for the rest of my trip.PS: Tired days full of sight seeing and clicking pictures calls for some rest during dinner time! 😛

Not sure what all the hype is about. I found Zero Zero to be an average sports type bistro with a noisy clientele and a menu that lacked imagination. I had the little shells pasta with broccoli which was bland and strange. Dessert was soft serve with cookies so pretty basic. Service was lacking.
